Kampala – A shooting incident at Buddo Junction in Kyengera Town Council, Wakiso District, has left two individuals dead, according to a statement by Patrick Onyango, Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson.
The victims have been identified as Nalumansi Evelyne Zaliya Kilonde Katende, a 50-year-old resident of Mpangala Cell, and an unidentified individual wearing UPDF camouflage attire.
The incident occurred on Tuesday July 23, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM. Onyango says two suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting, and one of them, currently detained at Nsangi Police, allegedly discharged the fatal bullet.
The police are also investigating allegations of kidnapping related to the suspects, whose names have not been disclosed.
“The bodies of the deceased have been transported to the City Mortuary Mulago for post-mortem examinations,” Said Onyango adding that the investigation is being conducted jointly with the Uganda People’s Defence Forces.
