Kampala – The Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a warning about foreign nationals engaging in illegal small-scale trading, particularly hawking household items door-to-door.

According to Simon Mundeyi, Ministry spokesperson, multiple reports have been received that these individuals use cars or motorcycles, causing inconvenience to residents. They often sell goods on hire purchase terms and confiscate national identification cards, leaving many vulnerable.

While addressing press at a joint security press conference at police headquarters in Kampala on Monday, Mundeyi urged the public to report further incidents, stating, “Supporting or engaging in these illegal activities is unlawful and will result in legal action.”
