Wakiso – In a significant move to strengthen military cooperation, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces, met with Colonel Zhang Hao, the first-ever Chinese Military Attaché to Uganda, at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe.

The meeting marked a new chapter in the historic relations between Uganda and China, with both officials acknowledging the importance of their countries’ longstanding friendship and cooperation.

They pledged to deepen military ties in areas of mutual interest, fostering a stronger partnership between the two nations.

The deployment of a Chinese Defence Attaché to Uganda signifies a major upgrade in the strategic relationship between the two countries.

This development comes on the heels of General Kainerugaba’s recent meetings with the Chinese Ambassador to Uganda and a delegation from China North Industries Group Corporation Limited (NORINCO), a leading global aerospace and defense company.

The strengthened military cooperation is expected to enhance regional security and promote mutual interests, marking a new era in Uganda-China relations.
