Kampala, – Employees and management of Yogi Group of Companies, under the Indian Association of Uganda, have embarked on a blood donation drive aiming to collect over 2,000 units.

According to Elizabeth Mbeeiza, Human Resource Officer at Yogi Group of Companies, the targeted units will be donated to the National Blood Transfusion Bank to help save lives. “We make it a point to donate blood annually to boost Uganda’s blood bank,” said Mbeeiza

Adonai Nanyumba, representing the Uganda Blood Transfusion Bank, highlighted the significance of blood donation. “Blood is a precious resource that can’t be manufactured or substituted. Donations are essential to ensure hospitals have sufficient supplies to treat patients,” he said

Nanyumba noted that Uganda faces a significant challenge during school holidays, when blood donations typically decline. “Students are among our primary donors. When schools are closed, we experience a shortage, putting patients’ lives at risk.” The Yogi Group Companies’ initiative helps bridge this gap, ensuring a steady blood supply throughout the year,” explained Nanyumba.

The Indian Association of Uganda and Yogi Group Companies invite other organizations to join this life-saving effort.

This corporate social responsibility initiative demonstrates Yogi Group of Companies’ commitment to giving back to the community.
