Kampala is set to host the biggest Masters swimming event in Uganda’s history, with over 350 athletes from 8 teams across East Africa expected to participate.
The inaugural Formidables Swim Gala, organized by the Formidables Swim Club, will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at Waves Fitness Harbour, located on Ntinda–Kiwatule Road. This family-friendly, high-energy event is open to all and promises a thrilling blend of elite swimming competition and lively entertainment.
With over 200 swimmers competing in 35+ categories, the event will showcase top-notch swimming prowess and thrilling races.
“This event is not just a competition—it’s a celebration of fitness, family, and friendship. Whether you swim, cheer, or just come to enjoy the atmosphere, there’s a place for you,” said Peter Ssebanakitta, Captain of Formidables Swim Club.
Louis David Wolimbwa, Head Coach of Formidables Swim Club, added: “Our athletes have trained rigorously for this meet, and we anticipate a day full of record-breaking performances and unforgettable memories. It’s a chance to witness East Africa’s Masters swimmers at their very best.”
The gala will start at 1:00 PM and conclude at 8:30 PM, followed by an electrifying after-party.
