Kampala – In an unexpected move, Coca-Cola Uganda brought joy to passengers at Kisenyi Bus Terminal on Friday through its renowned ‘Share a Coke’ campaign. Travelers bound for western Uganda destinations like Mbarara, Kabale, and Kisoro received complimentary Coca-Cola bottles featuring random Ugandan names.
The surprise gesture electrified the terminal, transforming ordinary journeys into unforgettable experiences. As passengers prepared to board buses, Coca-Cola’s team distributed bottles with personalized labels, sparking widespread delight.
Sheila Komuhangi, a university student traveling to Bushenyi, was thrilled to receive a bottle labeled “Anita.” “It felt like it was meant for me,” she exclaimed.

Jackson Mwesigwa, a father of three, shared his soda with his son, praising the initiative. “This is the kind of thing we only see in adverts. Now it’s happening to us.”
Abdnuru Kajibwami, a bus terminal employee, commended Coca-Cola for featuring local names on their bottles. “It shows that Coke values ordinary Ugandans and is giving back in a meaningful way.”
As passengers sipped their personalized drinks, conversations flowed freely. Lydia Namara discovered a bottle labeled “Patrick,” her brother’s name. “I’m going to give it to him when I get home. He won’t believe it.”

Eunice Akello jokingly claimed she’d find “Brian” to share her bottle with, despite the name not being hers.
Bus conductors and operators joined in the excitement, with one operator, Moses, expressing gratitude. “This shows that Coca-Cola values the common Ugandan.”
The ‘Share a Coke’ campaign replaces Coca-Cola’s logo with popular names, nicknames, and fun phrases to create a personal connection between consumers and the brand. With over 120 countries participating, the campaign has become a global phenomenon.
