Kampala – As the country grapples with high unemployment rates, Ugandans have been urged to respect their jobs and work diligently to keep them.
James Kubeketerya made this call during the ground-breaking ceremony of Chicking, a fast-food restaurant located along Parliamentary Avenue in Kampala.
According to Kubeketerya, many Ugandans tend to become complacent after securing employment, leading to poor performance and eventual job loss.
He advised employees to take their jobs seriously and appreciate the opportunities they have. “If Ugandans are to develop, they must learn to respect and value their jobs,” he emphasized.
Kubeketerya also encouraged Ugandans to take advantage of opportunities presented by companies like Chicking to improve their livelihoods.
He suggested that individuals could use the platform to sell their produce, such as hens, to boost their income and change their lives for the better.
Rogers Mukirwe, the manager of Chicking Global, highlighted the company’s commitment to creating employment opportunities for Ugandans. He revealed that the restaurant would employ over 200 people, with 80% of the workforce comprising Ugandans.
Mukirwe expressed optimism that the establishment of Chicking would not only provide jobs but also bring a unique dining experience to the city.
