National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders have kicked off their journey to the party’s parliamentary retreat at the National Leaders Institute in Kyankwanzi, starting from Kololo Independence Grounds.

The retreat, which runs from April 7 to April 15, 2026, brings together newly elected NRM MPs, Independent MPs aligned with the party, Central Executive members, and senior Secretariat officials.

The high-level retreat aims to orient legislators on the party’s legislative agenda, governance priorities, ideology, and cohesion strategies for the new parliamentary term.

Key topics include the NRM’s “Musevenomics” approach, human capital development, infrastructure, agriculture, and the legislative role of Parliament.

President Yoweri Museveni, the party chairman, is expected to deliver a keynote address, while other party leaders and government technocrats will also make presentations.

The retreat is part of the party’s tradition of preparing its members for legislative duties and reinforcing party principles and cohesion.
