University campuses are filled with young people with talents, ideas and stories waiting to be shared. Through its Essawa Yona Kisoboka campaign, Coca-Cola is helping create opportunities for these students to turn their creativity into recognition and cash rewards.
The campaign recently celebrated 26 university students who emerged as winners of its month-long Content Creation Challenge.
The winners were recognised during the Coca-Cola-sponsored Makerere Freshers’ Ball on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Makerere University’s Impis Rugby Grounds.
Among them were Bwogi Mahad, popularly known as Madzon, and Maswe Willy Zulich, known as Zullich, from Makerere University Business School.
For Madzon, the campaign has provided an opportunity to showcase his creativity, connect with other creatives and gain valuable experience.
He described being among the winners as exciting and humbling, adding that the recognition had motivated him to keep learning and producing better content.
Zulich, meanwhile, said the campaign had been a game changer for his creative journey.
According to him, participating in the Coca-Cola campaign has brought respect to his work and connected him with people who have contributed to his growth.
Both creators said the experience had encouraged them to remain consistent and pursue even bigger creative opportunities.
The challenge invites young people to develop original content around their EPL matchday experiences, meals and Coca-Cola moments.
By connecting the campaign to the interests and experiences of university students, Coca-Cola is providing an opportunity for young people to participate through their own creativity and storytelling styles.
The initiative is part of the brand’s Essawa Yona Kisoboka campaign, which celebrates young people doing the things they love.
At the Makerere Freshers’ Ball, thousands of students gathered for music and entertainment, with performances from Winnie Nwagi, Ykee Benda, Nina Rose and other artists.
However, for the 26 winners, the event also marked the celebration of their creative achievements.
Barry Otieno, Senior Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola in Uganda, congratulated the young creators and encouraged them to remain innovative and consistent.
He also urged them to continue participating in the challenge and take advantage of opportunities to win more prizes in November.
The Coca-Cola Content Creation Challenge is open to eligible Ugandan residents aged 18 and above. Participants can create original content, post on Instagram or TikTok using the campaign hashtag and tag Coca-Cola Uganda.
Multiple entries are permitted throughout the campaign period, with winners determined through validated leaderboard rankings.
For university students, the campaign is demonstrating that creativity can be more than an extracurricular interest. It can be a skill to develop, a platform for recognition and an opportunity to earn.
